New home for Charlie in the US

Charlie – Kathi’s top horse through the last years – has been sold. It is with very mixed emotions that Kathi sees this wonderful horse leave her stables, after six fantastic years together.

“I have had Charlie since he was a 6-year-old, and during my entire career I have never had a horse for as long as I had him. I am very happy he found a good home and rider, where I am sure he will be loved and very well taken care of. At the same time, I am of course very sad that he leaves me – Charlie is my friend and it will be very empty without him in the stables,” Kathi says.

“I would like to thank Axel Verlooy and Geir Gulliksen that both made sure that we could give Charlie a loving new home, and gave me time when I was under pressure to send him back to his previous owner. I am grateful that Axel and Geir helped me to give Charlie the future he deserves,” Kathi continues. “One day, I hope Charlie can come back and enjoy his retirement with me.”

With Charlie, Kathi competed at the 2014 World Championships in Normandy. In 2014 Charlie and Kathi also ended 2nd in the five-star Grand Prix in Hong Kong. The two have been influential on the Ukrainian team, and Charlie has jumped several clear Nations Cup rounds over the last years with Kathi in the saddle. They have numerous wins and podium finishes together, all the way up to five-star level.
