The first three weeks of the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour in Oliva Nova, Spain have been great.
The highlight of the first part of the tour, was Elien's victory in the CSI2* Grand Prix during week 2. Against a field of sixty other horse-and-rider combinations, Kathi and Elien went off with the victory after a lightning fast jump-off.
Elien was also placed in the CSI3* 1.50m Grand Prix that concluded week three of the tour, after an unlucky rail down in the first round.
Our 8-year-old Chaning Tatum has also showed great development, and stepped up to jump the 1.45m classes during the tour.
The young horses have been jumping consistent clear rounds, with Cornido and Hearst placing again and again in the 1.40m Gold Tour classes. In the 7-year-old division, Nicolo twice finished third including in the 1.40m final after jumping a double clear round. Also Calistoga has been picking up ribbons in the 7-year-old classes.
Kathi's students Constanze Nachtsheim and Mosaed Al Shuaibi have also had several good results. Constanze produced clear after clear with her 5-year-old Casimir, as well as with Caiado and Shankley in the 1.35m and 1.40m classes. With Loiza, Constanze made a strong debut in her first ever world ranking class - jumping with only a rail down. Mosaed jumped some very good clear rounds with Corlant in the 1.30m classes, and finished off with a 7th place in his 1.40m debut after a double clear round.
