The last weekend in March, and the first in April was spend at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour in Oliva Nova. Kathi took with her Air Chin Z, Charlie, Lord Larry and Quick Quibble to show at the tour – and they all jumped some great rounds during the two weekends.
For Air Chin Z and Quick Quibble, it was their second show with Kathi – and their first outdoors together. Nevertheless both horses jumped super rounds, both being clear in two of their three classes. The seven year old Lord Larry also impressed and was clear in the 1.30 class in the grass ring on Saturday.
The following weekend, Air Chin Z really showed her class. In Thursday’s three star 1.45 Grand Prix qualifier she jumped with a single time penalty, and in Friday’s Grand Prix qualifier in the grass ring she was double clear to end number ten. This mare is indeed something very special, and Kathi has high hopes for her.
Charlie continued his super form to end 5th in the three star Grand Prix after a clear first round. Unfortunately the front pole fell on the final oxer in the jump-off, but the time would otherwise have been good enough for second. This was Charlie’s first outdoor show of the season, and Kathi was very pleased with how he was jumping.
Quick Quibble and Lord Larry also did super rounds. Quibble was placed 5th and 6th in two three star 1.40 classes after jumping clear, and Lord Larry also did a great clear in his second 1.40 class of the weekend.
In other words; it was two super weekends in Oliva Nova!
